Abbi Pollyea says her business was built around energy.
As the owner of Movement Made Beautiful in Granger, a fitness business that offers classes in a group setting designed to âbridge dance to fitness,â Pollyea said clients feed off one another in the large 22-person classes, creating a positive, yet physically challenging, time.

Gyms, like other businesses deemed non-essential, were temporarily shut down a year ago and were able to reopen for in-person services by mid-June. Like many other businesses during the shutdown, gyms like Pollyeaâs and others, such as 9Round Fitness and Pure Barre, pivoted quickly and offered online classes within a week.

The other way to get involved is by putting a teddy bear or stuffed animal in your window for people to find. Especially during COVID, and everyone being isolated, and not being able to do a lot of things with family and friends – I think people are feeling a lack of community, Restall said. This is one of those ways that, even when we are all far apart, we can still feel a sense of community.
